The Churchill School
Jackie's Kids
Jackie's Kids is a reading initiative designed and implemented by The Churchill School and Center. Forty "at risk" students from local public schools are tutored in reading twice a week using the Preventing Academic Failure ("PAF") program. PAF is an Orton Gillingham multi-sensory approach to reading that provides systematic and direct instructions to students. The results of this initiative have been amazing. Thanks to Jackie's Kids, these youngsters are really learning how to read and, by doing so, acquiring the tools necessary to achieve success in school.
